And the Winner Is...

Going to be announced in a couple of days. I am out of town for Scotty's funeral this weekend and I don't have access to the winning caption right now... Sorry y'all

I've been trying to keep things about my personal life away from this blog as of late, but I feel that this needs a more widespread audience.

If you haven't been on my personal blog in the past couple of days, then you probably haven't heard about my best friend's little brother, Scotty. I encourage you to read my post by clicking here, but if not, here's the shortened version.

Scotty was out 4-wheeling a couple of night ago on October 21st, and got into a very serious accident. He passed away before the paramedics could get to him. Scotty was only 10 years old.

I have been very close to the family for a number of years now, but I didn't meet Scotty until earlier this month on an impromptu camping trip out near Logandale, NV. My best friend Josh is Scotty's older half-brother, with the same father and different mothers. Josh's mother just passed away a couple of months ago in early August.

I've been wracking my brain for a couple of days to try and figure out how I could help the family out, even in some small way since I don't get to see them too much any more. Then I remembered the rather large TG community, and the pretty sizable following I have on this blog. I would like to encourage all of you to donate to the cause, if even just a dollar, to help out. As of my posting this, $180 has been raised.

But here's the kicker

You must use a picture that I have already used in a caption!

Ever thought one of my caps could have been better, longer, or been used for a completely different story? Here's your chance! Any picture that I've used for a caption that is currently posted on this blog may be used to create your very own caption! You have nearly 400 hundred pictures to choose from if you choose to enter. Obviously, saving a caption I've already made and re-entering it without changing it will disqualify you.

This covers all pictures from my first post, Flexibility, to my most recent post, Cave In. You may not use a picture that is posted after the announcement of this contest.

The winner will be the featured post on this blog's 3 year anniversary, this Halloween!

Another Announcement

Alright everyone. Since Google is now reversing their decision about mature content blogs, here's how I will be proceeding from here:

I will not be closing either this blog nor the other one, assorteddebaucheries.wordpress.com
I will continue to post on both blogs, but each one is going to serve a slightly different purpose.
The blogger site will continue to be a home of my personal TG Captions and will be considered "home" for me.
The WordPress site will contain stories of my own creation, both TG and otherwise, but no captions. The first post I make will be from a story I started years ago and never got around to finishing. Some story posts will appear more frequently than others, as some of the ones I will be posting have already been finished. If you've ever traveled to the creative writing site Mibba, you may recognize the first story I will be posting, called The Workshop.
I will do my best to keep the blogger site updated at regular frequency, however I cannot make any promises for the WordPress site. I may update it once a month, once a week, or only a couple times a year - I just don't know yet.

Mostly I want to thank every one of my amazing, incredible readers for having stayed with me for so long. I started this blog for myself, and while I still try to keep that theme of "my blog, my rules," I think it's evolved beyond that in a sense. There's no telling what I'd be doing right now if I didn't have the virtual TG world in my life, and I thank my lucky stars that I've finally found a place where I won't be rejected because of who I am or what I do. Thank you all for being the amazing, wonderful people you are! And above all,

P.S. The WordPress site will be my backup site, just in case Google has trouble making up its mind. Hopefully I can stay right where I am, but you never know if you'll need a backup til you need it.

Blogger

As I'm sure you've heard, Google is putting its foot down on mature content within its Blogger servers. I'm here to tell you that this will NOT stop me! Lots of other captioneers are likely taking their works to Tumblr, and i wish the best of luck to all of those who do - I, however, will be getting myself a WordPress URL. This WILL be my last post on blogger with this account. I will make available ALL posts from this blog in a week or soon the new WordPress blog, and posting will continue as normal!

I haven't made any posts yet, but I have reserved the new blog already. All you have to do is change the middle part!

After this post, all of my work, both old and new, will be available at:

I should have my first WordPress post up within the next 48 hours

Thank you all for being with me for the past two and a half years, and I hope you'll all stay with me that much longer!

Guess who's back, back again?

I was finally able to get me a halfway decent laptop, it runs Windows 7 okay but most importantly I CAN CAPTION AGAIN!

Seeing as I have to collect entirely new pictures to caption (again) I will probably have new captions up in a few days, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alright and able to caption again :)

Let's get some comments up in here! Who's seen the new Hunger Games? I just watched it yesterday, HOLY COW!

Without Computer (AGAIN)

Well, it would seem I will be without computer yet again for a little while. My 2 year old brother took it upon himself to stomp all over my laptop while I was asleep - the screen is shattered, half the keys are broken, missing, or just don't work, and the motherboard is cracked. I really did want to put more captions up this month, I swear! But until I can get a new computer, I will have to take a break for a while :( on the bright side though, I should have a lot of fresh ideas by the time I do get back, which means more, and better captions for you all!
